Karangahake Gorge Walks
State Highway 2, 7 minutes from Paeroa
Several one hour circuits that take you through the relics of the mining days in the area or more adventurous walks up the mountain or deeper into the bush. For those who are limited in time or energy, you can walk two minutes from the car park onto the first swing bridge to experience the power of the river as it sweeps beneath you and take in the majestic views of the Karangahake mountain and the Tokani.
If you walk another five minutes, you can venture on to the next, smaller swing.

Housed in this historic building is one of the best displays of NZ and local maritime history including Captain Cook, The Northern Steamship Co., Naval displays and many scale replicas of vessels.
The acres of beautiful grounds that flow down to the rivers edge are constantly being improved with the help of community volunteers.
This area is a wonderful place for a picnic or BBQ or just an afternoon stroll and is available for private functions, such as birthdays and weddings.

'Tamati' Paddle Boat River Cruises
“Tamati” is a lovingly restored kauri paddleboat originally built in 1902 and rebuilt in 2001.
It was brought up from Hari Hari, Hokitika to provide river cruises on the Ohinemuri and Waihou Rivers.
Available for weddings, birthdays and private functions.
