Hi
My name is Tait Kora and I was born and bred in Waimana along with my six brothers and six sisters which we were all bought up in the church and music was a huge part of our lives. I formed my first band at the age of 8 years and won our first talent quest.
Since leaving home at the age of 16 years, I have played in a number of cover bands for about thirty years. Throughout this time I taught my four sons to play various instruments, then we eventualy form our own family band and played at Clubs -Pubs and Private gigs. Known as the band KORA, they have now succesfully become huge nationally and around the world within the industry.
Over the last 5 years I formed the Tait Kora Band which consists of;

Steve Fruish-Drums and percussion
Buddy Akuhata-Bass guitar
Ben Wakefeild-Trombone
All our songs are original compositions written produced by myself and we have performed at a few Major Concerts and Venues Nationally.
Our chosen genre is based around Jazz-Soul-Funk-Dub-Electro and rock. I have also released 2 Albums titled Te Momo 1 and 2, and also Self titled EP.
We are currently performing at various venues in the Bay of Plenty, but would like more opportunities to play Nationally and Internationally. |
