A blend of Miles, Coltrane and Parker with a dash of James Brown, Stevie Wonder and The Blues Brothers all topped off with a Spiral twist.
Featuring the expressive tones of multi-instrumentalist Andrew Hall(dDub, Rodger Fox Band) on vocals and woodwinds, as well as Finn Scholes (Batukada Sound Machine, Rodger Fox Band)
on trumpet and flugelhorn, who have both played around New Zealand and the world at various jazz and symphonic festivals. Together with, they hold down the melodic lines. With Joel Vinsen (Black Sand Deva) guitar (optional), Anthony Hunt on piano/organ, Nick Taylor (Tahuna Breaks) on bass and the funkiest drummer around, Cameron Sangster, Spiral plays all the tunes you know, thought you knew, and wish you knew.
The band is created in a similar vane to bands such as The Cat Empire, Tower of power, James brown/Maceo Parker, where we play relaxed and melodic infectious grooves that people can't help move to.
