"Paeroa's Got Talent" Quest“Paeroa’s Got Talent” CompetitionSunday 15th MayPaeroa Memorial HallIn conjunction with Coromandel FM 93.2 and Nga Iwi FM Celebrating NZ Music Month in May We had a fantastic response to the Talent Quest with over 35 entries into the competition and really good support from the large audience who turned out to watch. The categories were as follows:
Judges marked performances on : presentation, vocal ability, clarity, performance/entertainment value, talent, audience response. Congratulations to all the winners and thank yo to the contestants who had the courage to get up in front of an audience and perform. The winners were: Pure Talent Section: 1st – Kelsey Goble (classical ballet) (Turua) 2nd – Shana Tukere & Kayla ? – (Paeroa) Tweens Section: 1st - Bam Bam (Whangamata) 2nd – Morgan Stuart (Paeroa) 3rd – Cavatina Jo Timothy (Thames) Teens Section: 1st – Michael Watton (Paeroa) 2nd – Reece Gielen (Ngatea) 3rd – Stephanie Wall Have Beens ( Adults) Section: 1st – Rob Irwin 2nd – Shontelle Rhodes 3rd – James Corban (Paeroa) Originals Section: 1st – Chasing Pink Elephants (Paeroa) 2nd – Davy Bennett (Paeroa) 3rd – Ron Brown (Paeroa) 4th – Ashlee Dewer (Paeroa) Prizes: The winner of each section gets to perform at the Paeroa Jazz Festival The winner of each section gets to record a CD The winners will play on air on the local radio stations during the last week in May A video of each section winner will be made and uploaded to Youtube Other prizes donated were: 3 months of music lessons in an instrument of your choice $40 McDonalds' Meal Voucher A Family Movie Pass $10 vouchers for the L&P Cafe A Meal voucher for the L&P Cafe Pocket dictionaries of Musical Terms from Music Oasis, Waihi Packs of guitar pics from Music Oasis, Waihi All contestants received a NZ Music Month bag full of goodies.
