“Paeroa’s Got Talent” Competition

Paeroa Memorial Hall

In conjunction with Coromandel FM 93.2 and Nga Iwi FM Celebrating NZ Music Month in May

We had a fantastic response to the Talent Quest with over 35 entries into the competition and really good support from the large audience who turned out to watch.

The categories were as follows:

• Write and perform an original composition
• “Tweens”  Open section (10-13yrs old)
• “Teens” Open Section (14-18yrs old)
• Adults “Have Beens” Open Section
• “Pure Talent” - open to any performance medium

    
   Judges marked performances on : presentation, vocal ability, clarity, performance/entertainment value, talent, audience response.

Congratulations to all the winners and thank yo to the contestants who had the courage to get up in front of an audience and perform.

The winners were:
Pure Talent Section:
1^st – Kelsey Goble (classical ballet) (Turua)
2^nd – Shana Tukere & Kayla ? – (Paeroa)
 
Tweens Section:
1^st - Bam Bam (Whangamata)
2^nd – Morgan Stuart (Paeroa)
3^rd – Cavatina Jo Timothy (Thames)
 
Teens Section:
1^st – Michael  Watton (Paeroa)
2^nd – Reece Gielen (Ngatea)
3^rd – Stephanie Wall
 
Have Beens ( Adults) Section:
1^st – Rob Irwin
2^nd – Shontelle Rhodes
3^rd – James Corban (Paeroa)
 
Originals Section:
1^st – Chasing Pink Elephants (Paeroa)
2^nd – Davy  Bennett (Paeroa)
3^rd – Ron Brown (Paeroa)
4^th – Ashlee Dewer (Paeroa)


Prizes:
The winner of each section gets to perform at the Paeroa Jazz Festival
The winner of  each  section gets to record a CD
The winners will  play on air on the local radio stations during the last week in May
A video of each section winner will be made and uploaded to Youtube
