Art in Windows – Celebrating the Arts in Paeroa

Paeroa spends a fortnight celebrating the artists and craftspeople in this town by holding an “Art in Windows” competition that combines the talents of an artist with the products of a retail store to create a window display that portrays a themed collusion between the two participants. With about 30 entries each year, the Town Centre comes to life with colourful and clever combinations presented in the shop windows, bringing some vibrance into an otherwise dull time of year.

This is accompanied by a schedule of workshops and demonstrations where you are encouraged to try your hand at a craft that has always intrigued you. These are generally short one day or part day workshops with a project to complete in that time so that one can leave with a sense of achievement. These workshops are on many subjects from silk painting to woodturning & floristry and everything in between.

We have special guest exhibitions on show at the local galleries and Paeroa Society of Arts which add to the arts flavour.

We look forward to adding more to this programme each year and bringing more people to Paeroa to experience our arts & crafts first hand.
