About the Community

Paeroa is a small town full of enthusiastic people who are constantly looking for ways to show the country and the world, what a fantastic place it is and just what can be achieved by relatively few people if they have a vision.

Paeroa has a great geographic advantage in that it is central to so many other places – we have three major cities within and hour and a half’s travel, stunning beaches, bush, mountains and rivers and the Coromandel Peninsula all close by! This makes it the perfect place to settle and make a home or set up a business. It is ideal for both young families, people of their middle years and retired folk to live here as it is friendly and welcoming and there are a number of support services for all ages. It is still handy to bigger service centres but real estate and rental properties are still very affordable here.

I have lived in the area for 23 years now and have built a home at Karangahake which I consider to be one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand. I was delighted to become the Town Promoter here and be a part of progressing a Town which has so much to offer in so many ways with the best being the warm friendly people who are prepared to get stuck in and help out with projects which benefit the whole community.

There is a big focus on sports in Paeroa which is reflected in the many clubs & teams representing many forms of sport & recreation.
